The math and business departments of U32 have invited guest speaker Colin Ryan (Economy of Me) to speak to 10-12 grade students. Colin was hired through a 2 year grant from the Association of Vermont Credit Unions to address the national concern about financial literacy. "In 1968, only 64% of high school student could pass the JumpStart National Coalition's survey for financial literacy. In 2008, that number was less than 48%." Colin presents this topic through an effective combination of information, humor and pop culture. His message: "the ability to manage your money directly affects your ability to have the life you want." To learn more, check out his website: www.EconomyofMe .com.
This assembly is for 10-12 grades students only. Ninth grade students should go to their class 2 drop in class.
